Welcome to Loma Elementary
We are proud to partner with families to create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for every student. We encourage families to stay involved through classroom volunteering, PTA participation, and ongoing communication with teachers and staff.

School Hours
- Regular School Day: 9:05 a.m.–4:10 p.m.
- Early Release Fridays: 9:05 a.m.–2:10 p.m.
- The morning bell rings at 9:05 a.m. and the tardy bell rings at 9:10 a.m.
Playground Supervision
- Playground supervision begins at 8:40 a.m. Please do not send students to school earlier than 8:35 a.m. for safety reasons.
Attendance
- Regular attendance is essential to student success. Students should only be absent due to illness or emergencies.
- Parents/guardians must call the office by 9:30 a.m. to report absences or tardies.
- Students arriving after 9:10 a.m. are considered tardy.
- Attendance below 90% is considered chronic absenteeism and may result in school outreach to support improved attendance.
Homework and Learning at Home
Homework supports skill development, responsibility, and independent learning.
Student Responsibilities:
- Understand and complete assignments
- Manage time and materials
- Turn in neat, accurate work on time
Family Support:
- Provide a quiet study space
- Encourage good study habits
- Support reading at home on a daily basis
Communication
- Friday Folders are sent home with important school and classroom information.
- Monthly Newsletters are available on the school website and sent home via email and print.
- Parent-Teacher Conferences are held two to three times per year, with progress reports sent home quarterly.
Health Services
- Our School Health Assistant is available from 8:45 a.m.–4:15 p.m.
- First aid is provided for minor injuries.
- Medications are administered only with completed authorization forms.
- Parents will be contacted if a student becomes ill or needs medical attention.
Transportation & Arrival/Dismissal
- Bus transportation is provided to students in the Loma attendance area.
For safety: - Families picking up students must park and meet children at the front of the building.
- Students may not enter the parking lot without an adult.
Visitors & Volunteers
- Families are welcome and encouraged to be involved at Loma.
- Please arrange classroom visits in advance with teachers.
- All visitors and volunteers must sign in at the office and wear a badge.
- Volunteers must complete a volunteer form each school year.
Family Involvement
Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
- The PTA supports students through enrichment activities, events, and fundraising efforts.
School Advisory Council (SAC)
- The SAC includes staff, parents, and community members who advise the principal on school programs and operations.
Dress Code & Personal Items
- Students should dress appropriately for school and weather conditions.
- Clothing with inappropriate or unsafe messaging is not permitted.
- Toys, trading cards, and electronic devices are not allowed during the school day.
Student Safety & Security
- Loma Elementary uses cameras, intercoms, and secured entry doors to maintain a safe campus.
- All visitors must check in at the office and wear a visitor badge.
- Emergency procedures include fire drills, lockdown drills, and shelter-in-place practices.
- Reunification procedures are used to safely reunite students with families following an emergency.
